Public Recognition Guidelines

Donor tree mural When writing your listing for public recognition (for example, PALF website, PALF literature, and Donor Wall for donors of $5,000 and above), please keep in mind these guidelines and suggestions.
1. 40 spaces on one line, including punctuation and spaces
2. Use "&" rather than "and" to save space and be consistent
3. There are many options within the 40 spaces:
  • Peter & Lisa Smith
  • Lisa & Peter Smith
  • The Lisa & Peter Smith Family
  • The family of Lisa & Peter Smith
  • Lisa Jones & Peter Smith (this would be listed under Smith)
  • Peter Smith & Lisa Jones (this would be listed under Jones)
  • Lisa, Peter, George, & Jennifer Smith
4. For gifts in memory or honor of another person:
  • In memory of Jane & John Smith
  • In honor of Jane & John Smith
  • The Jones family honors Jane Smith (alphabetized under Smith)
5. No adjectives are permitted due to space limitations (for example, "in loving memory")
6. No titles (such as Dr., Mr., Mrs., Professor, etc.) due to space limitations and to ensure consistency
7. For businesses, there are two options:
  • XXX Company Name
  • XXX Insurance Company – Peter Smith
(Please note that no business logos are permitted due to city policy)
