Congratulations to Alison Cormack, Palo Alto Library Foundation board member and Co-Chair of the “Launch Our Libraries” fundraising campaign. Alison is the Tall Tree 2012 Honoree for Outstanding Citizen for her work on spearheading Measure N, the Library Bond passed in 2008, resulting in bringing our city libraries into the 21st century, and for her current effort to raise funds to furnish the city’s new and renovated libraries.

The foundation is currently raising $4 million to fill our libraries with furniture, fixtures, technology, books, and electronic resources not covered by the bond measure. To date we have raised $3.8 million with $200,000 left to fill the gap.

Please help us cross the finish line by making a gift today! Make your check payable to Palo Alto Library Foundation and mail to PO Box 181, Palo Alto, CA, 94302, or make a donation online at www.palf.org.

The Palo Alto Library Foundation is pleased to announce that the “Launch our Libraries” campaign is 90 percent complete, with $3.6 million raised to date. The campaign is providing the funds for the city to purchase modern, accessible furniture, dozens of new computers and other technology, and thousands of new books and electronic materials for the three libraries covered under the Measure N bond of 2008.

Today, PALF is presenting the City Council with a check for $1.9 million to fully fund all the furniture, technology, and materials needed for the Mitchell Park Library and Community Center to reopen in 2012.
