The mission of the Palo Alto Library Foundation is to spearhead fundraising campaigns to support a modern, dynamic library system that serves the needs of everyone in the city. With the Grand Re-Opening of Rinconada Library on February 14, 2015, the last of our city libraries to be remodeled, that is exactly what we have — vibrant locations with modern facilities and fantastic programming, dozens of new computers, and thousands more books, DVDs and e-books.
The Palo Alto Library Foundation Board of Directors has carefully reviewed our mission, the state of the city’s library system, and the other options that the community has for supporting libraries. We have completed our mission and concluded it is time for our organization to cease operating, and we will do so on June 30, 2015, the end of our fiscal year.
Please join us as we celebrate our foundation’s success, our city’s modern library facilities, collections, and programming, and our donors, who helped make it all possible!
